Indiekid
Films presents…
Content
of Character Festival
Portland OR, January 12-15 2007
Along with our usual fare of extraordinary world cinema for children,
Indiekid Films will showcase several works which reflect the teachings
of Dr. King and celebrate social justice and tolerance. A tribute
to the man who said, “I have a dream that one day my four
children will not be judged on the color of their skin, but the
content of their character”.
Indiekid festival screening
provide an eclectic mix of live action, animation, kid and adult
created work, international and local independent cinema for a young
audience. We believe that everyone despite age and geography should
have access to create and appreciate dynamic cinema. We value the
opinions of our young audiences and creators believing they have
a great capacity for self expression and understanding. Take it
to the street little people!
Portland venues include
the historic Kennedy School and the newly restored Academy Theater
in Montevilla.
While the festival is
still in the planning stages, we hope to partner with the Northwest
Film Center and feature a program from Spanish speaking countries.
Additionally
we’re hoping to include a special musical guest performance.
