While we didn’t have our own program, Indiekid was able to submit some of our favorite festival films to the 2006 Lollapalooza Festival short film screenings in Chicago. Congratulations to filmmakers Jay Morton, Henry and John Bergin, Big Kidz Entertainment in Australia and the amazingly talented students at the Filmakademie at Baden-Wurttemberg Germany.

In the spring of 2006 Indiekid hosted screenings at several Oregon film Festivals including the Pine Film Festival, Parkdale Film Festival, Salem Film Festival, and our own Lil Longbaugh Festival, the children’s component of the Longbaugh Film Festival.

Lil’ Longbaugh was an amazing success with events around the city including workshops and screenings at the Portland Art Museum, Portland Children’s Museum, film programs at Kennedy School and Mission theaters, a dance party with Captain Bogg and Salty and a retrospective of Estonian cinema for children. In all we had over 30 films, including award winning films Rosa Parks Story and The Children’s March from the Southern Poverty Law Center
